THE CHALLENGE

AMP Creative originated as Abernethy Media Professionals in an above garage apartment over 17 years ago. The owners, Amy Lou, and Sandy Mason Abernethy, had a vision of creating top-notch content for a variety of corporate clients. Over the years, we have transformed from a couple of people working out of that garage apartment, to a team of 21 collaborating in a 20,000 sq. ft. production facility, located in Dallas, Texas. Our portfolio has also run the gamut from corporate communication videos to network television shows, virtual and augmented reality, and even entire bespoke learning and development ecosystems.

Our journey to farmerswife was a bit rocky, and one that progressed over many years. We started with a budgeting and billing service designed for agencies that temporarily fit our needs when we were only a handful of people. However, that quickly became troublesome when we grew in people, equipment, and space. We tried several software options designed for production, without great results, before giving up and moving to a zillion different spreadsheets and individual docs.

We faced a series of challenges at every step of our production software phase. Everything from a lack of inventory tracking, to bad UI, speed and team communication issues, and calendaring and hours management. The goal was to find a one-stop solution for various types of projects and productions.

THE SOLUTION

We first inquired about farmerswife in December of 2015. AMP Creative officially signed on in May of 2016 and we rolled it out to our entire team that September. It sounds like a long time, but when you are making company-wide shifts in core operational software, a year is quick.

The biggest benefit we’ve found in farmerswife has been that single platform we searched for to manage our productions. It’s nice to have a one-stop shop for all production operations – one main source of information that our entire team can access. A single source of truth.

The farmerswife support is a cut above the rest. From the very beginning, we received individual attention any time we needed it. Setting up and kicking off farmerswife was no small feat. Especially for a company of our size and complexity. We had a wonderful project manager who worked diligently with us to mold farmerswife to fit our specific needs – a great approach compared to so many other software companies that try to mold your business to fit their own software structure.

The ongoing support is also fantastic. They are always quick to respond, very friendly, and very helpful. As VP of AMP Creative, I deal with a lot of support teams, and farmerswife truly stands out.
